ABBY - Co-Head Mod/ Artist Mod/ Merch Mod - Hi! I'm Abby and I'm 22 years old! I am a head mod for Angel of the Battlefield and now a co-head mod of Of Mews and Men. I am also the art mod for Paradise: A Byhardt Zine and the general mod for Jardin Secret. I am so excited to do something like this it is right up my alley.

MAXX - Co-Head Mod/ Writer Mod - Hi! I’m Maxx + I’m the Co-Head Mod for Of Mews and Men. I’m the creator/writing mod for Fodlan 2X77, + I’m excited to be working on such a cool project.

RAY - Graphics Mod - Hewwo I'm Ray I love cute things!! I'll be your graphics mod for this zine so I hope we all get along uwu. I was the graphics mod for Of Blades and Beasts and Heart and Soul!

HHAV - Finance Mod/ Shipping Mod/ Merch Mod - Hey! Hhav here! I've been apart of some wonderful projects (Of B&B, H&S, Solaris) and I can't wait to spread the FE agenda with some handsome fellas and even more handsome felines :3 We've got some puuuurfectly awesome ideas headed your way!

FEI - Layout Mod - Heyo! I'm Fei and I'm absolutely obsessed with Fire Emblem I've contributed to quite of few zines as an artist and now I'm excited to be the layout mod for this zine. Can't wait to work with everyone to make this project a reality!

WILD - Artist Intern Mod - People call me Wild. I'm a twentysomething intern that did a lot of zines a long time ago, when the internet was fairly new, then took a looong hiatus. I'm back, now a contributing artist for a few upcoming zines... and obsessed with Seteth.

ARYCH - Artist Intern Mod - Hi, I'm Arych ♡ I have some experience under my belt as a page artist for various FE zines but this is my first foray into zine modding. Super excited to be working with all these talented people!

RHYSE - Writer Intern Mod - Hi I'm Rhyse, I'm 30 and a long time FE fan. I have moderated several projects over the years, but never a zine before. I'm eager to learn and very excited to be here. I have contributed to A Man For Flowers, The Golden Scheme, and Solaris among other zines.

About

This zine will depict male characters from the Fire Emblem series shirtless with cats. The zine will be in a magazine format similar to that of Vogue. This zine will feature art, advertisements, editorials, interviews, and merchandise. We will be offering physical and digital products, types pending.

This zine will be in A4 format and will feature 25-30 artists, 3-5 merch artists, and 10 writers.


Of Mews and Men is in full support of the Trans community and is currently moderated by multiple trans people. We are happy to include trans men in our zine, both pre and post-op; though some art may be limited due to the rules of our manufacturer.

Compensation:
The zine will be for profit. If we receive enough profit, contributors will receive a copy of the zine and merch will be available at factory prices.

ARTIST INFORMATION

  • Artists must create page art, spreads, or spot images. Page art and spreads are pretty self-explanatory, but what is a spot image? In magazines, often there are small images that accompany written pieces, those are what we refer to as spot images.

  • Those assigned to do spot images will only create 2-3 pieces. If you are assigned a spot image and a page for example, it will only be 1 spot image.

  • Page Artists will have the opportunity to take their assigned character and make an advertisement. Advertisements would be what you would commonly see in magazines, such as perfume or fashion. You could have your piece represent a certain brand like "Purrchino."

  • Templates will be provided for each type of art, but in general, art will need to be 300 dpi and CMYK.

  • Artists will be assigned a character based off their preferences. Some characters may not be available due to a guest artist having already chosen them.

  • We are currently considering allowing those that finish early submit a piece of a character not currently on the list... more on that soon.

  • Art may be digital, traditional, etc. as long as you are able to present your piece in 300 dpi.

MERCH ARTIST INFORMATION

  • Merch Artists will be given the opportunity to create 1-3 designs.

  • Merch Artists will be assigned pieces based off of their preferences.

  • Templates will be provided for each type of art, but in general, art will need to be 300 dpi and CMYK.

  • Merch Artists will utilize characters that are listed on the carrd.

WRITER INFORMATION

  • Writers must create interviews or editorials. Interviews involve you, the writer, interviewing one of the listed characters. Editorials are a little more complicated. Editorials can be about a particular issue, such as politics or ... hot men, but they can also just be anything the writer wishes to talk about. Even a recipe! Preferably it would be something either hot men or cat related. Let your imagination run wild!

  • As for the word count of interviews and editorials, they will be the same. The limit will be around 2800 words and that will be around 4 pages if you use our provided template.

  • POV is 3rd person.

  • Due to spot images, you may have to collab with an artist to have a few small pieces represent your written work.

  • Due to the limited amount of space in the zine, pieces must be focused on a listed character.
